Muscle Fiber

We always talk about muscle building while considering fitness activities , there are 3 types of muscle tissues .
*Cardiac muscle
*Smooth muscle
*Skeletal muscle
To be precise there are 2 types of muscle fibres
*Type 1(slow twitch muscle fibres)
*Type 2(fast twitch muscle fibres)We always talk about muscle building while considering fitness activities , there are 3 types of muscle tissues .

1.Slow twitch muscle fibres
2.Fast twitch muscle fibres

Slow twitch fibres
Which moves slowly but helps you to keep moving longer.
Eg:Running a marathon , cycling

Fast twitch fibres
Which helps you to move faster but for shorter periods.
Eg:Sprinting , powerlifting

In order to train a particular sport you wil have to target and train that particular muscle fibre.

Slow-twitch muscle fibers
They are fatigue resistant, and focused on sustained, smaller movements and postural control. They contain more mitochondria and myoglobin, and are aerobic in nature compared to fast-twitch fibers. Slow-twitch fibers are also sometimes called type I or red fibers because of their blood supply.

Fast-twitch muscle fibers
Fast twitch muscles support short, quick bursts of energy, they have very few blood vessels and mitochondria , because they don’t need to fuel quick, intense activities.
This is because fast twitch muscles are anaerobic. They use sources of energy that are already present inside your body, such as glucose.
